Am I required to participate? No. However, it would be great to see what you come up with! Remember, some classroom teachers have made it a requirement.
Do I need to follow the scientific process? Yes and no. This year's science fair is different than your traditional fair. The emphasis is on creativity and engineering and your project may or may not lend itself to following the scientific process precisely. However we do ask that you refer to the packet that was sent home. It details the process that we would like you to follow.
Can I bring in something other than an invention? Yes. If you would like to bring in a project that follows the traditional scientific process, feel free. You are not restricted to any one thing.
