GROVELAND HAPPENINGS....

Thank you to everyone who helped out with this past weekend's playground installation. It was a great community effort. The kids are anxious to get out there and try it all out. They will have to practice their patience while we wait for the curbing and the ground cover to go in. The playground should be ready for use in about a week and a half.
In the spring we will see the final phases of the playground project completed - concrete work, new street entrance, landscaping, benches, etc...

Groveland Park Elementary has two easy ways for families to help the school. Parent, Renee Akimoto, has volunteered to organize the Labels for Education program. Thru this program, Groveland earns points for labels and then can redeem them for a variety of free items. The labels included in this program include Campbells soups, Spaghettios, Prego, Swanson Soups, V-8 juices, Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers and breads. A complete list of products can be viewed at the Labels For Education website - www.labelsforeducation.com. The portion of the lable needed for most products is the UPC code with the picture of the lilltle boy next to it. The exception is V-8 juices, they are asking for the lid - (please rinse before bringing in). A collection bin will be set up in front of the school office.
Parent, Sharon Curtis, is organizing the Box Tops for Education program. Thru this program, Groveland earns money for the Box Top coupons we send in. These funds are then used toward the programs of the school. The products in this program include General Mills products, Ziploc, and Kleenex products. A full list of products is available on their website - www.boxtops4education.com. For this program simply clip out the small Box Top coupon from the label. Again,
a bin to collect the coupons will be outside the school office.
