Dear Parents,
I would like to extend a warm hello to all of you
and welcome you and your child to the first grade. My name is
Lori Seastrand, your child’s teacher. I am looking forward to a
fun year of learning with your child.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew
up in Menomonie, Wisconsin and moved to Minnesota for
college. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary
Education (K-6) from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Masters Degree in
Education from Hamline University. I also received my K-12
English Language Learning (ELL) licensure from Hamline.
I have been teaching at Groveland for the past three
years and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Before my
first grade position, I taught Title 1 for a year. Prior to Title
1, I taught in the K-2 TLC (Transitional Language Center) where I team
taught Hmong refugee students from Thailand. Prior to working in
St. Paul, I taught ELL in Minneapolis for 9+ years.
I value your involvement in the education of your
