| | | | New Director at Groveland for the 2007-2008 School Year Hi, my name is Randy Peterson and this is my 14th year of teaching in Saint Paul Public Schools. I also teach at Highland Junior High School and at Roosevelt Elementary this year. I am a graduate of Edison High School in Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis where I received my B.S. in Music Education in December of 1990. My principal instruments are trombone and voice. I feel the most comfortable on all of the brass instruments, but also do very well on all of the woodwind instruments. I have also taught at Highland Elementary, Horace Mann Elementary and Capitol Hill Magnet. I play with a small group of friends around Christmas time, holiday music in a group I named called the Silent Nightmare's.
I am an avid outdoorsman and love to hunt, fish, camp, canoe, and travel. I have been to Kodiak Alaska, Tokyo Japan and Malaga Spain were some of my most memorable trips. I love to cook. My specialties are Red Beans and Rice, Sausage Seafood Gumbo, Lasagna, and Pad Thai. I also am a regular trivia player on NTN trivia found at local restauraunts such as Buffalo Wild Wings, and Old Chicago. I love learning and any chances I can get for taking a new adventure. I am a voracious reader and read 4-5 books at once. I especially enjoy science fiction books. Currently I am reading the Otherland series by Tad Williams about a world of virtual reality worlds that seem real.
