     Demeter the goddess of agriculture and fertility, Poseidon the god of the sea,
Dionysus the God of wine and Fertility.
    Demeter is the goddess of agriculture and fertility. Demeter was the daughter of Cronos and Rhea. She was the wife of her brother Zeus and mother of Persephone.  When her daughter Persephone was kidnapped by Hades, the  God of the Underworld, She was so sad she stopped taking care of the plants and the crops. Demeter begged Zeus to make Hades give Persephone back but Hades tricked Persephone into eating a pomegranate seed.  Because she ate in the underworld she could not leave the underworld.  When Hermes came to him to tell Hades to give Persephone back to her mother he agreed but Persephone must  come back for four months (winter). Demeter was still very sad when Persephone left.
    Poseidon the god of the sea. He is the brother  of Zeus and Hades. He is the son of Cronos and Rhea. He is the second most powerful god.  He uses his magic Trident to split rocks in half incase of an earthquake. Laomedon did not pay Poseidon for building the wall of Troy. Poseidon sent a sea monster to revenge on Laomedon.  Years after,Poseidon joined the Greeks in the Trojan
    Dionysus the god of Wine and Fertility. He was the son of  Zeus and Persephone. In some myths he is the son of Zeus and Semele. Dionysus created the art of wine making. Dionysus was sometimes known as the god of theater. He was celebrated at many festivals. the most famous ones were, The Lesser or Rural Dionysia witch was celebrated in late December, The Greater or City Dionysia witch was celebrated in the late Spring, Anthesleria witch was celebrated in the early Spring, and The Lenaea witch was celebrated in Winter.
    Semele was the Goddess of Olympus. She was sometimes said to be the mother of Dionysus. She was the daughter of Cadmus and Harmonia. She thought Zeus was a real man. So she called him to her but his thunderbolt killed her. Zeus took the his unborn son from her ashes. When Dionysus grew up he rescued Semele from Hades in the Underworld and made her Goddess of Olympus.

    There are many god and goddesses, gods are believed to have created the universe. I found a few of the god and goddess: Hades, Zeus, Hera, Athena, Aphrodite, and Demeter. Some of the gods  were named after the planets like: Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, and Uranus that’s how they got their Roman name.                                                                                                                         Zeus is the god of life and death, he is a powerful king of the gods, he used a lighting bolt to strike down wrongdoers, he is also the son of Cronus. Zeus is the principal of the pantheon. Hera’s Zeus’s wife and sister and his roman name is Jupiter. Zeus was also the husband of Juno and father of Minerva. 
    Hera is the queen of the Olympian gods and she is the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She is the mother of Ares and Hephaestues. Her other name is Juno. She punished offending men. Hera angered Zeus by playing favorites  with mortals. Hera is jealous of Zeus’s other wives.   
    Hades is Zeus brother, he is the god of underworld where the dead lived as ghostly shadow. His Roman name is Pluto. He is the son of Cronus and the father of Persephone. Any spirits who ever tries to leave Hades was to challenged the fearful dogs, Cerberus.   
    Athena is Zeus daughter, goddess of war and wisdom, her roman name is Minerva. Athena was the patron goddess of Athens. Goddess Athena raise Erchtheus herself.  Arachne presumed to challenge the goddess Athena to a weaving contest. Scholars, soldiers, and craftsmen prayed to her for sharp wits.   
    Aphrodite is the goddess of love, she can make people fall in love. Using this skill against other gods made her powerful. Aphrodite is born of the foam of Uranus.
     Demeter, is the goddess of agriculture and ferlitiy. She is the daughter of Conrus and Gaia and she is the sister of Zeus, and Demeter is the mother of Persephone. Demeter’s daughter married the god Hades.    
    Uranus is one of the gods. He was represented the sky and or the heaven. He was the son and husband of Gaea.

    Hellen was the son of Ducalion(in some myths Zeus was his father. His mother was Pyrrtha. His brother was Amphicryon. Hellen was known to have survived an ancient flood alone. Hellens had three sons Aceolus, Xuthus, and Dorus. He was the King of Thessaly.
