Math: We are working on Unit 6: Geometry. Unit 6 reviews 3-D and 2-D figures. Children will explore points, line segments, rays, and lines, and the relationships among them, along with the geometric shapes than can be built from them. * Continue to study multiplication facts every night until they are mastered!! * Writers Workshop: The children have completed their memoirs. They worked so hard and did an excellent job. Ask your child about the writing celebration and check out the photos on our web site. Our next genre study will be nonfiction. The children will research the rainforest and write a report on an animal. Readers Workshop: The children are completing their book groups and working on their final projects. During this month the children will be reading nonfiction to coincide with the Writers Workshop genre study. Literacy Skills: In addition to the word study/spelling, we are working on adverbs, adjectives, and punctuating dialog. In cursive writing we have almost completed learning the lower case.
