Our goal is to give every student an appreciation for and an
understanding of other cultures through Spanish language instruction
and cultural exchange.
Amity Interns are Groveland’s
Spanish teachers in the classrooms. They come from Spanish speaking
countries all over the world. These Native speakers spend one school
year here, allowing our students to practice speaking Spanish and to
learn about new cultures.
This school
year 2007-2008, the Amity Intern Program is funded by Friends of
Groveland.
The Interns will teach in each
classroom in 2 Residencies: one in the Fall and one in the Spring.
These will be intensive 8 week-long residencies taught in half hour
sessions, 2x per week. Language Club will also be offered before
school for students interested in additional Spanish instruction.
