Teaching is a challenging profession. The expectation that teachers can adapt their instruction to meet the diverse needs of each child is lofty. At Groveland, teachers rise to the challenge and, just like our students, strive to the highest of expectations. We work toward a balance of veteran and new teachers while never compromising quality. Seventy percent of our teachers hold Master’s Degrees and have taught for 10 years or more. We are constantly working to improve our skills so when we talk to our students about a passion for life long learning, we also live it by example.

Our professional development plan asserts that growth for teachers is a continual process and should be linked directly to our students’ needs. Initiatives and goals at our school are turned directly into professional development plans to ensure our teachers are always focused, growing, and adapting to become even more effective. Communicating with parents, taking the time to really know your child’s interests, and modeling the passion for learning is how our teachers are described. Their ability to challenge all learners is the exceptional gift that sets them apart.
